Welcome back to Questions for the Culture! Can anyone tell me why September seems to melt away so fast every year? It’s always so jarring and I never get used to it.
Why is Diddy still walking among us? When will he face justice?
Unfortunately that’s up to a state’s District Attorney somewhere. However, you can trust and believe that they are somewhere building evidence for a solid case. Until then, we’re going to see lawsuit after lawsuit by the people he abused for years. Recently Dawn Richard from Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money came forward in a 58 page lawsuit alleging sexual abuse, threats, and entrapment and the details are terrifying to read. Ultimately, even though we have seen quite a few lawsuits, this is STILL only the tip of the iceberg. He has been tormenting people for DECADES. In the meantime we should disentangle our music listening habits from him and his record label, if nothing else than to keep more of our money from lining his pockets.
Why did that lady do all that at those people’s wedding?
Some people are providing services for the sole reason of getting close to strangers in an inappropriate manner. This is an example of that but also I think this should be a lesson in boundaries and knowing when to leave. It shouldn’t have to take the groom of the wedding you are the MAKEUP artist for screaming at you in public, to get you to leave them alone and stop making their wedding about you. Then you post ALL of this for the world to see? Baffling.
This creator has been covering THE KEY LOOK (makeup artist) and her ridiculous behavior at those people’s wedding
Is this the end of NewJeans?
That’s what it seems like and I’m honestly very devastated for them. To explain briefly, NewJeans is a kpop girl group formed under Ador, a subsidiary of HYBE entertainment i.e. BTS’ company. This week the girls took it upon themselves to make their own YouTube channel and express their frustration at the dismissal of their controversial and embattled CEO. This is well…bad. It’s just bad. Their statement was filled with misinformation, likely fed to them by that same embattled CEO which leads me to believe that the relationship she cultivated with them was as manipulative and inappropriate. Not to mention, they are artists who have now firmly placed themselves at the center of a business feud in which they have few protections. It’s also clear that none of the adults involved on either side have their best interests at heart and I shudder to imagine the retaliation they’ll face from their company. I foresee a long, unexplained hiatus if not outright legal action against the girls themselves. They were so failed.
Why do men keep building public brands on being “good guys” when they know it isn’t sustainable for them?
I wish I knew but it never works out for them. Now people are making parodies of your biggest hits highlighting your cheating, Dave Grohl and you have no one to blame for yourself. Now, your long buried history of infidelity is now the subject of think pieces and people are calling Courtney Love the white Azalea Banks because she was right about you. This is your impact, sir. And this keeps happening. Remember when Ned had to leave the TRY GUYS because he had made his entire brand for a decade loving his wife and then was caught cheating on her (that and the abuse of power of dating an employee)? Well, I remember. Yet, they never learn. We, never learn actually and in a year’s time we’ll be shocked again by another nice, famous guy (I’m looking at Matthew McConaughey with a serious side eye, now).
People are really just behaving badly in a way that indicates that we’re all unraveling a bit. That or the social contract or whatever buzzword comes to mind is coming apart at the seams. Anyway, I could write these all day. Thank you for reading!
Stay golden and have a good weekend!
