I’ve been back for a little over week now and it’s already time to go back. Upon my return, I was delighted to hear of news that the authorities were conducting raids on Diddy’s multiple lairs. That finally, the authorities were doing something about “brother love”. Instead, the internet watched him getaway to a remote island in real time. An ominous sign of pop culture news to come. There’s no Diddy in the UK. They are far ahead of us. I also desperately miss the trains of London that will take you to every crack and crevice of the city. Again, city of the future y’all.
I can’t believe I’m changing jobs again. Nothing is more embarrassing than being the new person in the office. I always find a way to make my ice-breakers uncomfortable. The urge to tell people I watch anime takes over and I feel I have to divulge it. Without fail, at least one person looks at me with concern. Probably because I sweat a lot during ice-breakers. There is no sweat-free deodorant for the face so I suffer in damp silence. Anyway, wish me luck!
I am currently still on chapter 6 of my debut novel but I am still on track to finish this year. While I have no control over whether it makes it on shelves, I plan on releasing at least a chapter or two here for free. You all have allowed me the space and freedom to grow as an author and I definitely owe you, the WWW reader a huge thank you for that. So stay tuned!
Someone is going to have to come to my house and turn off Cowboy Carter because I can’t do it myself. Beyoncé has yet again taken over my life and she did it in spurs and a ten gallon hat, no less. This album is music at an academic level. A symposium of sound, if you will. AP Music Theory students will be writing essays about Riiverdance for years. You are simply being obtuse if you do not see the vision. I don’t care if I never see another Beyoncé music video again, the music is so powerful it stands on its own. The visual stimulation caused by her song-writing will allow your brain to create the visuals needed. We should all be grateful for the opportunity to listen and learn.
DEI is the current conservative boogeyman used to whip up their base before the election. I am again asking that they just start calling people the N-word again. Let’s just skip the pageantry and performance. We all know what you’re trying to say and really, you’re running out of abbreviations.
Congrats on the new job. Everyone feels nervous, it’s ok. You’ll adapt in no time :)
