It is currently hotter this week than it has been ALL YEAR. This includes that one brutal weekend at the end of July. In Early September. But if I say “We are finished”, people will call me dramatic. Okay. Let’s begin:
No actually, let’s stay on the weather because what is THIS, honey? It is so bad and whenever I go outside and the sun begins to sear my face off, I’m reminded of the time where in one of my environmental science classes my professor said there is no turning back from this point and we should be putting all of our research and focus into mitigating the damage. Like, I knew he was right but I didn’t think he was THAT right, you know? It’s a little harrowing to think about. On some subconscious level, I always expected that when push came to shove we’d start to get it together. Call it a childish faith in the system but I genuinely assumed the adults in the room would realize we need to preserve the planet but… I suppose not.
If you like Korean BBQ there is no reason why you aren’t currently buying the marinated meat from the back of Hmart. It’s restaurant quality and for $10-$12 you get enough meat for 3 meals for a single person which is so much cheaper than paying $40 every time you want some. I love sitting in a restaurant more than anyone but we need to find ways to say you guys. They also sell frozen Hotteok (stuffed korean pancakes) as the season for those is upon us. If you’re interested, I’d get them soon because the cinnamon flavor has been known to sell out quickly due to no fault of my own…
As someone who uses Pay in 4, we should definitely outlaw Pay in 4. It’s way too easy to get caught up but if we were to outlaw it, things would have to be affordable again and we can’t have that, right?
The One Piece live action premiered recently and given Netflix’s track record of random cancellations and horrible adaptations, I was hesitant to give it a chance. However, I’m currently on episode 3 and it really is a charming take on the series. There are some notable changes that make it feel like an alternative universe at times but ultimately, I like it enough. If you haven’t already been convinced to watch the anime, I recommend giving this a chance.
Also while we’re on the topic of what I’m watching, the actual point of this blog funny enough, I suggest everyone watch BS High on Max (formerly HBO Max). It is a truly harrowing re-telling of the high school football scam that captured the attention of the nation. It also sheds a light on the toxic culture surrounding football in this country because, and let’s be honest, you couldn’t scam like Roy did in many other sports in this country.
